July 30 We are an Aging Nation! This other day I was sitting on a tram thinking very deep and meaningfully about our future and I came across a most disturbing thought: In about 20 years, we are going to be dominated by the whiteheads or the 55+ pop. Our biggest growing demographic group is 105-115!!! I then had a little brainstorm about....the future..and...it doesn't look positive!
For one thing, we can kiss goodbye to many things that we take for granted...like...AFL (not that I really liked it) because our new national sport will be ALL (Australian Lawnballs League). This fascinating sport will contaminate primetime tv and force us to read instead. Because, apart from lawnballing, we still won't have good shows to watch anyways. MASH reruns and This is your life will dominate the screens. We might even see MORE reruns of "The Love Boat" (oldies need some lovin' as well!) and "Happy Days" for all the "Fonzies" who will go through mid-life crises, but DO NOT WORRY because Neighbours will still be on, ANd who knows? could we witness our first 55+ pin up boy/girl then??? I vote Harold (neighbours) and Kerry Anne Kennedy! Chuuuchh
Our whole economic landscape will change-> Good businessmen would know to invest in the goldmines of the future- RSL clubs!!!!, that come with inbuilt advanced lawnballing facilities. Unfortunately, nightclubs might fade into daytime RSL clubs which might open late for Bingo nights on Fridays...theres a hope! Our streets will be empty (yes more emptier than they are) as retirement villages will become the next CBD's of Melbourne and the heart of investors everywhere.
You may not notice it yet but- The old people are already starting their takeover! They are so cunning. Firstly, classical music that you hear at train stations-> Don't believe that they are played to prevent violent crimes-> Those excuses are merely cover- ups for the true conspiracy that lies in the heart of this evil music-> They are trying to brainwash us into enjoying this silent killer and slowly- they will play it everywhere, before we even realise it! Classical music will blare from trains, shopping centres, even pubs! Ay Carumba! And then- they will win!- AM radio will finally dominate FM radio which wouuld signify a goodbye to FOX FM.
But.... There are sommee positives...At least this might significantly decline our Road Toll and Road Rage since most of our population would be too old from driving. Drug overdoses might also decline- But then again...we might also bare witness to- viagra overdose and walking stick rage? where men and women poke each other to death with their walking sticks. I don't know...the future can sometimes be uncertain...
Disclaimer: Shu Shu Chen does not mean any offence to those who are 55+. Note that Shu Shu Chen doesnt believe in most things she wrote above and actually can not wait until our population ages.
July 25 So its Goodbye Marissa Cooper. If I was the director, I wouldn't have ended it that way. It wasn't sad enough (in my opinion). She didn't even tell Ryan that she loved him...I would have done it this way:
From the start. (Marissa is not going to Rhode Island to live, shes going for a short holiday)
Marissa finds out about Ryan stealing a car with that other guy and she gets angry at him.
She calls up Summer to talk about it however Summer is busy with Seth because he is scared that he will go to jail and therefore she hangs up on Marissa.
Marissas mum drives Marrissa to the airport
Ryan drives after them because he wants to say bye to Marissa.
That other guy also drives after them for the same reason
Ryan and that other guy spot each other and start dragging and bumping each other.
Meanwhile in the other car Marissas mum starts to apologise to Marissa about sleepin with her ex + all the stuff shes done wrong as a mother
Just as Marissa is about to forgive her mum...they both notice two cars coming up to them really fast
The other guy bumps Ryans car and as he swerves to miss a tree he bumps the corner of Marissa mums car and they swerve off the road
You see Marissas mum trying to pull Marissa out and screaming...
Ryan screams at them "get out of the car...the petrol is leaking"
The other guy, noticing that Marissas mum can get out of the car pulls her out whilst she screams hysterically because she wants to save her daughter
Ryan slowly pulls Marissa out and then he carries her away.
Scene then skips to see Ryan and Marissa walking down the road cuddling and laughing and walking towards home
And then the camera zooms in on their faces and we notice tears coming down ryans face, and his smile fading to a frown...
The camera zooms out again and the camera now depicts what really happened (the walking down the road scene was all in ryans head) in this scene, Ryan is kneeling down carrying marissa (away from the burning car) as she fades away saying "i love you.." her mother bends next to her and as the mother and daughter reach to join hands, marissa dies...
Thats how she would have died....
In the next season
- marissas mother visits summer to tell her what happened. Summer is devastated because she rejected her friends final call, marissas mother starts to cry because her daughter died without marissa forgiving her for her sins against her. The two women grasp each other and share their pain
- when ryan tells seth what happened, seth reveals his (previously unknown) ex love of his life who had also died in some tragic way.
- at the funeral ryan comforts marissas mother and tells her that marissa forgave her and that marissa knew her mother loved her wen she nearly sacrificed her own life trying to save marissa
- that other guy is also at the funeral and comforts marissas mum. Looks are exchanged between them indicating chemistry.
- Mystery girl appears at the funeral for marissa. Heads turn. Seth reels at his heels at the sight of her.
We all hoarders...I must confess something. It isn't easy and I know this leaves me open and vulnerable. I have an illness. Yes it rips me open inside, it burns and my soul is scarred....I admit... I am a Computer Hoarder. Yes. I finally admitted it. My computer is filled up with documents dating back to my high school days, even though my computer has crashed several times. I use to carry 3 GB of music, including 2GB of music that I nor listen to nor like. (Then my computer crashed and the backup didn't work...) When I lost my music, I grieved for weeks, even though I was sick of most of the songs... Since then, still...life still doesn't seem as rosy. On my favourites list are all these sites that I have once enjoyed going into, sites that I can easily find on googl...the list is getting long and messy....i want to delete them...yet I feel like I need to keep them there....incase I lose a chunk of memory...incase I cannot remember www.friendster.com.... Before I empty my recycle bin, I would go through all the files, and then end up retrieving heaps of them and then eventually binning it again...
I should have known this was going to happen to me. I have gone through it alll....I was previously a key hoarder and bus ticket hoarder at the same time!!!!!! Until I became voucher hoarder and gum hoarder (don't even ask...)
Friends please stay by my side as I go through this painful stage of my life. July 02 Blogging for the sake of blogging..I have my internet back (again). Yes after three annoying Optus Service reps and a whole lotta time, stress and computer abuse...its back on and I am happy.
What a bizarre week it has been. Definitely. Australia lost to Italy, a pain I don't like to think about too much and then Mr. Andrew Bolt decides to write an article about it emphasizing the gap between "Australians" and "ethnics" drawing attention to how "ethnics" here were screaming and laughing after Aus's loss...(they were Italians Mr Bolt!) I hate the Sun. Another "shock" was Brazils loss to France (which I didn't watch), and then the "shock" expelling of two BB housemates for an "sexual abuse" of another female housemate....being an avid watcher of BB, I was left stunned that people (who u begin to feel to know) would dick slap their housemates..
And Tom Cruise is no.# 1 in Forbes Celebrity 100 list? WHats the WORLD coming to?
Btw...whats happening with Howard and Bush and stuff eh? havent really been paying attention..
Oh and Aus Idol is about to start again....
