April 17 I have many addictions.1. Addicted to Gloria Jeans: Yes I work there but it doesn't mean I get free food or beverages (If I work for five hours I get one complimentary drink) and it really doesn't help that I smell it, I see it and I see others consume it right in front of me either. So now I am addicted. Everytime I see a Gloria Jeans I have to just walk in an get something....
2. Addicted to CommunityChannel. Ok I feel like the biggest geek right now but I am absolutely addicted to CommunityChannels video blogs. I even went as far as messaging her to thank her for her videos and then sit at my computer just waiting for her response. FFs shes just an ordinary Vietnamese Australian chic from Sydney. I probably know her somehow (and if you know her pllleeease tell me!) But I'm acting like a crazy fan. But if you watch her video blogs, you'll understand. Shes completely hilarious
3. Addicted to AIESEC.net. Even though currently theres only Emma, Nirm, Daniel and Bri (sometimes Fi) mostly posting, I pretty much go on AIESEC.net every day to check what's happening. I haven't had this feeling since 2005. Maybe we all just excited about AIESEC this year. Who knows?
4. Addicted to gmail. OMFG Oendrila thank you thank you thank you thank you. Gmail is the BEST thing that has ever happened to me. The way it just threads your convos! EVeryone you just have to get gmail! I am serious. Plus there is gmail chat now as well. Gmail has pretty much saved me from a complete mental breakdown. I actually look forward to checking my email.
5. Addicted to Coffee vending machines. Ok people who know me will never understand this. I certainly don't. I am completely fussy about my coffee and yet- I am addicted to instant coffee from vending machines- Seriously I have no idea why. It all started one night after a hard nights studying at uni when I really needed a coffee fix. The only place open was 7/11 and so I got a latte. It wasn't the best coffee but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of having it. Can someone please explain to me whyyy I'm like this?
6. Addicted to Emma. Ok it completely kills my pride but like I'm sure Emma feels the same way. No we are not gay. But like everyday we have to talk to each other. Even if its about something as irrelevant as Emma not being able to find a book or me finding something funny. And we almost always fight for who gets to talk and whoever loses (that is whoever is the one who could not get a word in) always tries to hang up. Ok so we have already both established that we don't ever talk to each other, rather we use each other as a pillar to talk about ourselves. And for some reason we always end up laughing.
7. Addicted to my toe socks. Yes so there was a day when I forgot that I was working (and I was wearing thongs) so I had to go to an op shop to buy myself what Huy calls "dead girls shoes" (because people sell the shoes that others die in) and socks. Anyways, so I bought my $5.00 shoes (which i won't wear again cuz i'm weirded out by them) and I bought these really nice toe socks which I'm obsessed with. They wrap your toes! It feels so comforting to have your toes wrapped srs!
April 09 Yay I'm sinful!Seven Deadly Sins...WRATH

GLUTTONY
GREED
2. If you had a million dollars, what would you do with it? Buy my parents a house, invest the rest of it...leaving a lil for me to go to the Middle East and Germany
PRIDE
LUST
ENVY
1. What item of your friends would you most want to have for your own? WHAT DEADLY SIN...
April 07 OldiesSo the other day I went to see my dad, and we watched youtube into the wee hours of the morning. Anyways, he managed to find all these really cool old songs which were really popular back in the day. If you have Chinese parents (especially if they sing karaoke) these songs are going to bring you back so many memories of your childhood. I still remember my dad teaching me to sing all these songs. Anyways, these artists are probably old and/or dead by now.
Ming Tian Hui Geng Hao:
An all star cast sing this (sometimes they look a bit gay). If they were famous today they would probably be doing drugs or going commando/bald and flashing everyone. Anyways, these are such feel good clips it can bring a smile to anyone!
Enjoy!!!
Note: Surprise your parents with these clips, they will love it.
Jiu Gan Tang Mei Wu
酒干倘賣無
This is the main song for the movie "Jiu gan tang mei wu" Which translated in English means "A penny for a bottle" (or something like that)
The movie is probably the only film I have never been able to watch to the end simply because it is too tragic, too painful.
Its about a mute who takes in a baby girl whose mother abandoned her on the street with a note that simply says "look after her" (I know that the most recent adaptation- in a series rather than a movie-is slightly different, with the baby actually being left behind by an ex or something which is different from the original story). Anyways, this kind-hearted mute takes in the baby girl and looks after her like his own daughter much to the dismay of his wife who leaves him. Anyways, this guy makes his money out of selling empty bottles found on the streets. As his daughter grows up, she becomes a successful singer and eventually leaves her dad and her small village for the high life. She is so busy with building her career that she forgets to visit her lonely father who is sick as well. Anyways, long story short, she hears the news that her father is unwell and that his only wish is to see her before he goes. She rushes back to the village but she is too late, she just missed him- he died thinking she forgot about him. Anyways, there is much more layers to this story so I guess you will have to watch it yourself (if you are game- Im not exaggerating when I say that it almost killed me to watch it)
Anyways the daughter sings the song "Jiu Gan Tang Mei Wu" after her father dies. Its a tribute to her father and its very beautifully composed and executed. Really, it helps you appreciate your parents before its too late.
April 02 Food labels! How to read themI was watching Oprah today and...
And I learnt some very important dietary tips! Which I am going to listen to!
To stay healthy:
Avoid foods which contain any of these:
- hydrogenated oil,
- high fructose,
- enriched flour, it means that all the good stuff is removed and replaced by this.
- bleached flour,
- THEY ARE EVIL!!!
And Anything that has more than 4g of saturated fat and/or 4g of sugars should be discarded!!!
I also learnt that:
Everyone's tongue works different according to the different cells on your tongue. Genetically, people are either:
- Under tasters
- Balanced
- Super tasters
Apparently, you can check what you are about mixing a glass of warm water with a satchet of sweet and low. If it tastes sweet, your a super taster and it means your naturally more prone to be addicted to sweets. If it tastes bitter, then your an undertaster who tends to eat only to satisfy hunger.
The most interesting of them all is:
The type of food you eat reflects your mood
Icecream/dairy= Loneliness
Sweets= Depression
Pasta= Sexual Frustration
Savouries= Stress
A mixture of them all= Jealousy
