Would you pay $7.50 for a cofffee??

Yesterday I was forced to pay $7.50 for a freakin burnt disgusting coffee at Pancake Parlour.

I ordered a Mug double shot soya latte.

I struggled to think of how a coffee could cost so much.

Lets start with a basic coffee. Even though different places charge different rates for coffees, I guess if you average out, the standard coffee costs $3.00 to $3.50 in the city.

$3.50 for a coffee is a fair bit to pay (in my opinion) but if it is a good coffee I would fork it out.

    Assume its $3.50 then.
add 50c for upgrade to mug
add 50c for soya milk (tight but places do it)
    add 50c for extra shot

Total: $5.00 Which is a fair bit, but normally you could get a fair coffee from that. Although I would expect alot for a $5.00 coffee, I would still happily pay for it if its an awesome coffee...

Even so $5.00 is still being tight because seriously for the store, an extra shot of coffee doesn't cost them much, even a mug doesn't cost alot (its just a little extra milk) But..(kinda) understandable.

    BUT 7.50??????????????????????????

I am not a tightass...but I am soooo pissed offf that I don't want to ever go to pancake parlour again (even though I probably will)

Plus it was a shitty coffee even before I knew that it costed me $7.50

    WHat Can $7.50 buy?????
A whole maccas meal at 24hr Blacky.....including desert
    A whole meal at Chinatown
    3 pieces of sushi
    A really cheap singlet top
    A magazine (or two)
    Fresh salmon ($5.00 worth)
    Two bottles of milk
Two (or more) loafs of bread
Three lil packs of strawberries (when they are in season)

but....i paid it for a bitter, burnt coffee which i never finished

    ....u bastards...

    Al Nakbah

It seems that ever since Israel was established in 1948, all that has ensured has been conflict, war and despair for many innocent people, undeserving of such pain. This is not necessarily to say that the Israelians did not deserve to establish a state because they did. In my opinion and the opinions of many others, in the beginning, it was not the fault of the Israelians or Palestinians because they were both promised the same land by the Brits, the land that previously belonged to the Palestinians. So began a conflict that would escalate to what it is today (even though today it is much more complicated). A war was won by the Jews in 1949 and Palestine became Israel where the remaining Palestinians were forced to retreat to the West Bank and the Gaza Strip (Correct me if I am wrong) which was territory owned by Egypt and Syria (Correct me if I am wrong) Ever since, the Palestinians have wanted to return to Palestine (losing Palestine is what they refer to as al- nakbah) The Arab forces (led by Egypt) attacked Israel again in 1967 to help out their Arab brother Palestine retrieve their land, they lost and they also subseqently lost the Westbank and the Gaza Strip to the Israelis. To this day, the borders since 1967 has somewhat been retained and even though there were subsequent battles fought again and again since 1967, the Arabs have been powerless to regain their lost territories from Israel because ISrael has been backed by USA the whole way through. So what is occuring today is a symptom of years of misunderstanding between the Arabs/Palestinians and the Jews, caused not by religion or ideology  but by sovereignty, borders and national security, exacerbated by outside powers, particularly, England (in 1948) and USA.

What i do understand is that the treatment of Palestinians in Israeli occupied territories since 1967 (Westbank and Gaza) is abhorrent. Today, 50 years later, and Palestinians are still living in refugee camps, their movements restricted by the Israeli Defense Force with enforced curfews, constant monitoring of their activities, constant ID checks etc. Occupied territories are being run like detention camps. Then you have Lebanon, once a bolstering company with a booming economy now the battleground for Israeli/Arab conflicts. Investment has dried, the city has flattened and yet conflict ensures and lives are ruined.

Suicide bombers continue to bomb Israel, there is a feeling of unease as suicide bombers from Al Qaeda, PLO to Hezbollah continue to bomb embassies, buses, public buildings. Yet you cannot blame the terrorists either, they are standing up for their own people, the people who are continually treated like animals. And the cycle continues. In the meantime, the US cashes in.

    SOME QUOTES FROM TRIBAL MESSENGER

"If you aren't with us you are with the terrorists!"

"If you aren't with us you are against us!"
    -- Hitler, 1939

"If you aren't with us you are against us!"
    -- Cheney, April 2002

"THE ARMY THAT CAN DEFEAT TERRORISM doesn't wear uniforms, or drive Humvees, or call in airstrikes. It doesn't have a high command, or high security, or a high budget. The army that can defeat terrorism does battle quietly, clearing minefields and vaccinating children.

It undermines military dictatorships and military lobbyists. It subverts sweatshops and special interests.
Where people feel powerless, it helps them organize for change, and where people are powerful, it reminds them of their responsibility."

    A random life

Does anybody live like me? My weirdness must come from somewhere..I don't know where it comes from. I guess if your someone who has a mum who puts honey into your milk, avocado in your icecream and then makes you finish it! You just might not be normal... Then again, maybe it is normal to have a mum who would once in a while....cause you severe heart damage when she turns around suddenly with this freaky facial mask on without warning you and this isn't just once btw. Maybe its the environment. My neighbours are absolute creeps. The lady who lives next to me once banged on my door at 6:00am in the morning (whilst i was conveniently sick as well, i reckon she knew too i mean, we live in such proximity...how could she possibly not here me cough) accusing me of scratching her car (which i did not do btw...i had nothing against her), another neighbour is this Witchy old bag who lives above me on my right. This senile bitch (i hate her) is the quintessential old nagging lady who just cannnot mind her own business. She once yelled at me for taking a short cut to the car park next to our flats because I was squishing her flowers apparently. Not only were there no evident flowers (and if you actually have been to my house, you would know that there are no flowers) but there is no way I could damage anything..I step on rocks blardy hell... I have a pretty cool neighbour who lives opposite me, until my mum told me today that he asked her over once to check out his house (i don't want to know...) ANYWAYS..my life is just pretty random.... not only that but also my boss looks like Osama Bin Laden, I always seem to smell things others don't smell (and its not me!) and I share a psychic connection with emma (even though emma shares it more with kay >_<)

...hows taht for an update yiiiiiii?????

    welcome back
